The Prevention Fund

The Prevention Fund was established in 2007 as a result of the welfare agreement entered between the government (the Liberal Party and the Conservatives) and the Social Democrats, the Danish People’s Party and the Social-Liberal Party in 2006.

The fund hands out up to 350 mil. DKK annually to innovative measures designed to reduce attrition in the working life and improve occupational health and safety in the workplace.

The fund grants financial support to:

  •  projects to prevent routines and work procedures that lead to attrition;
  • projects to develop new technologies to prevent routines and work procedures that may lead to attrition;
  • projects to improve the retraining and rehabilitation of sick and disabled persons;
  • projects to raise awareness of the risks connected with smoking, alcohol, obesity and physical inactivity.
